Abstract

The objective was to verify the efficacy of 3% sulfosalicylic acid, its sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value of pregnant women in 24-hour urine. The first level of care in pregnant women is decisive for a timely diagnosis of complications that occur in pregnancy, one of them is preeclampsia since modifiable and non-modifiable multicausal factors can lead the woman towards fatal eventualities with reserved prognoses, especially in high Andean areas with more than 3800 meters above sea level. This being an extremely difficult condition that puts at stake the health of the mother and her product. The sulfosalicylic acid test would help us early to take the appropriate measures in this clinical condition that makes it more difficult to manage pregnancy in a pregnant woman.
